carrageenan induced left hind paw edema. The methanolic extract at the dose of 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg body weight shows
moderate to significant anti-inflammatory activity. The methanolic extract of Indigofera uniflora Roxb reduced the edema
induced by carrageenan by 25.83 % and 37.25 % respectively on oral administration of 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg body
weight as compared to the untreated control group. Aspirin at 20 mg/kg body weight inhibited the edema volume by 30.75 %.
The results indicated that the methanolic extract 400 mg/kg body weight shows more significant (p<0.05) anti-inflammatory
activity when com-pared with the standard and untreated control.
<Email>sivagamympharm@yahoo.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>4</volume><issue>1</issue><year>2014</year><keyword> Anti-inflammatory,Indigofera uniflora Roxb,Carrageenan</keyword><AUTHORS>Sivagamy M,Alagumanivasagam G,Jeganathan NS, Senthamarai R</AUTHORS><afflication>Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu, India.,Department of Pharmacy, Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar, Chidambaram, Tamilnadu, India,Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu, India.,Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu, India.</afflication></Article></Articles>
