nontoxic or minimal toxic. Therefore the present research to investigate the hepatoprotective activity of Clerodendrum
serratum. The leaves of Clerodendrum serratum was successively extracted with Petroleum ether, Chloroform, Ethyl alcohol
and Aqueous .The preliminary phytochemical test were done and the LD50 values for both alcohol and aqueous extract
determined. The hepatoprotective activity of the alcoholic (200 mg / kg. p.o.) and aqueous Extract (200 mg / kg. p.o.) were
assessed in rifampicin induced hepatotoxicity. Results showed that the both extracts possess significant hepatoprotective
effect.
<Email>sorabh44@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>3</volume><issue>2</issue><year>2013</year><keyword> Clerodendrum serratum,Ethyl alcohol,rifampicin,hepatotoxicity</keyword><AUTHORS>Sorabh Kumar Agrawal,R.K.Jat,R.C.Chhipa</AUTHORS><afflication> Department of Pharmacy, Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India., Department of Pharmacy, Siddhi Vinayak College of Science & Higher Education, Alwar, India., Department of Chemistry, Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India</afflication></Article></Articles>
