The plant is reported to have anti-fungal activity, anti-arthritic, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory activity, anti-proliferative activity, analgesic activity, hepatoprotective activity, anti-cancer activity, anti-convulsant, larvicidal activity, anti-asthmatic activity, anti-diuretic activity, immunomodulatory, anti-estrogenic activity, anti diarroheal& wound healing activity and chemical constituents such as carbohydrates, proteins, amino acids, saponins, glycosides, phytosterols, quercetin, phenolic compounds, tannins, flavonoids, mucilage, asparagin, ?-sitosterol, caffeic acids, fumaric acid, gallic acid, vanillin, p-coumaric acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, sesquiterpene, alantolactone, iso-alantolactone.
