There are number of medicinal plants mentioned in literatures, available locally which are used widely by the traditional healers against snakebite. Almost 80% of the people in the developing countries depend on traditional medicines for primary health care including snake bites, most of which are derived from plants. Hence, plants used for the treatment of snakebite may be alternative to antivenom serum.
