Abstract

Fibroids in pregnant females is a many times encountered medical entity. Objective of this is to learn about the maternal and fetal outcome in ladies having being pregnant with uterine fibroids. We current the clinical, obstetric data, perinatal results of one hundred fifty pregnant women with fibroid from a potential study. One fifty pregnant ladies with fibroid >3.5 cm have been prospectively covered in study. Major share of affected person with fibroids have been in youthful age team of 20 -29 years when in contrast to older age crew of 31-35 years (66% vs 33%). Fibroids have been greater time-honored in multigravidae, in contrast to primigravidae. In nearly 1/2 of patients, (53.3%) fibroids had been recognized earlier than pregnancy. Common problems encountered at some point of being pregnant in lowering order of frequency have been pain abdomen (46.6%), accompanied by way of threatened preterm labour (26.6%) and anaemia (26.6%). Out of 150, thirty (20%) female had abortion. In remaining, 110/120 pregnant women with fibroid attained time period being pregnant between 37 to forty weeks. Twenty required antenatal myomectomy. Caesarean part used to be finished in 75% of girls who attained time period being pregnant and one affected person had technical issue throughout caesarean section. Post partum heamorrhage used to be viewed in 50/150 (33.3%) of patients. Out of 120, fifty neonates had low birth weight. Forty neonates required NICU admission. There was no perinatal mortality. In our small affected person sequence there was increased incidence of caesarean deliveries and increased incidence of threatened preterm labour, anaemia, and postpartum haemorrhage, and hence pregancy with fibroids has to be regarded as high risk pregnancy
